  Entrance requirements and disclosures

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age or hold a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Students who are below 18 years of age by enrollment must provide proof of a High School Diploma or a GED and a parent or guardian must enroll the student.

  • Students must provide government issued identification and social security card to enroll.
  • Students with a criminal background may not be eligible to sit for the Nursing Assistant examination at the completion of their program. Please call 1-850-245-4444 to verify eligibility prior to enrollment.

  • Students who wish to enroll at the institution must not have failed any portion of the Florida State Nursing Assistant Examination three times. Those who wish to enroll for the C.N.A course and have failed the Nursing Assistant exam must enroll into the Board approved 120 hour C.N.A course, this requirement is per the Florida Board of Nursing.

  • Other institutions may not accept our credits when transferring to another institution; students are required to investigate prior to enrolling in this program.

  • Students interested in attending any program must be able to stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time, and be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds of weight.

  • Students are required to obtain a physical examination by a qualified practitioner and receive a Tuberculosis test prior to resident contact. Students must also hold a current BLS CPR card prior to any clinical rotation at a facility.

  • None of our programs include the state or national examinations, it is the responsibility of the student to apply for the examination and pay the required fees as set by the company offering the test. Fees range from $127.00 - $150.00 for Florida Nursing Assistant examination and $105.00 for Allied Health exams.

  • Students must have C.P.R  for Health Care Providers prior to direct patient contact, QHCTA offers C.P.R  at a fee of $50.00 this fee also includes courses that are required for yearly mandatory CEU's towards the C.N.A/LPN/RN  licensure, applicants who currently hold a state licensure as a RN, LPN or C.N.A will be awarded 24 CEU's for completing this $50 course, your name will be submitted directly to the Florida Board of Nursing for credit toward your licensure.

C.P.R/CNA Continuing Education Hours (Florida requirements for certification)
This course provides the potential or Certified Nursing Assistant/LPN/RN with the 24 hours that are required every two years for Florida licensure and certifications.

Courses Taught: CPR by American Heart HCP, First Aid, HIV, Domestic Violence and several others. This course covers all the mandatory CEU'S including medical error prevention. After completion we will register your name and license number with the Florida Board of Nursing for credit toward your required hours.

Total Course Cost: $50  Length: 1 Day (9am-1pm) or (4pm-8pm)
                                                               
New Patient Care Assistant Program
This program is the first of its kind in Florida

Patient Care Assistant (PCA) (Bradenton office)
This program provides a 354 Hour diploma after completion. It combines Home Health Aide, Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy Tech, EKG Tech, Psychiatric Tech, and Health Career Core in one program. The course is just two and 1/2 months long and combines both in class and distance learning so you learn full time and only attend the course at our school part time helping those with children and full time employment.

This course consist of a maximum amount of clinical time, students must have clean khaki uniforms and all white shoes for clinical. *Note: Students who have criminal backgrounds with drugs, violence or repeated theft will not be allowed to rotate in the hospital setting.

Class Hours: Monday- Thursday Class/Clinical/Lab Friday's: Distance Learning.
                                         Day Course: 9am-1pm Non clinical, 7:00am-12 noon Clinical
                                         Night Course: 4pm-8pm clinical/non clinical
                                         
                                        
Phlebotomy class clinical are 4am-8am  (2 weeks)

Cost:$1600.00 minus applicable credit.

After completion you can choose from a variety of certification test: Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG, Psychiatric Tech, Patient Technician or Clinical Medical Assistant.  You can take one or take them all, each examination cost $105, the Nursing Assistant examination is $127-148.00. All examinations are scheduled at our office.

Students need a physical exam/TB, proof of immunity from MMR, criminal history.
Past students who have attended any of the above courses will be granted credit for class time, clinical and cost. Students who have attended a  course from another institution will only be granted credit from a school who is licensed by the Department of Education and are regionally or Nationally accredited. 

C.N.A/H.H.A 75 Hour program:  (Bradenton Office)
This program combines distance learning, classroom and clinical time into a part time 2 week program.

Week 1: 16 hours clinical skills lab done at the office, 21.5 hours home study.
Week 2: 16 hours clinical rotation, rotations are held at: Hospitals and Nursing Home, 21.5 Hours home study.

After completion of this program you will receive a diploma signed by the Nursing Educational Director, This is an approved program by the Commission for Independent Education. Students who complete this program will be eligible to sit for the National Association for Home Care and Hospice certification test to become a "Certified HHA" as well as the Florida Nursing Assistant examination to become a Florida "C.N.A".

C.N.A 120 Hour bridge program (Bradenton Office)

Week 1: 9-1pm Monday- Thursday   
Week 2: Monday-Tuesday 9-1pm   8am -12noon Wednesday and Thursday 
Week 3: 6:45am-3:00pm Monday- Friday

Night Class Schedule:4-8pm (week 1 and 2)
                                      3-11pm (week 3)

Clinical rotations are completed at local nursing homes and Hospital.  

C.N.A 40 Hour Examination Preparation Program (North Port, St. Pete) 

This program is for the person wanting to get their foot into the medical field, topics covered in this course are strictly for assisting the student to pass the Florida State examination. This is not a diploma program, the student will get a topic and clinical performance check list when completing this course. This course will prepare the student for employment as a entry level nursing assistant .

*Note: Currently, the State of Florida does not require the Nursing Assistant to take a course to sit for the state examination, however, due to the complex nature of the clinical portion of the state examination taking a course to prepare you for the state examination is highly recommended.


Class hours: Monday- Thursday, 9am-1pm or 5pm-9pm 
Cost: $300.00, includes book and Examination preparation training
C.P.R and State testing is not included.
Clinical Performance is conducted at office lab.

Psychiatric Technology 450 Hour program (Bradenton Office)

Class Hours: 9am-2pm Monday- Friday, for four months.
Cost: $1575.00 Includes Book.
C.P.R and National Examination is not included.
Khaki colored uniform is mandatory.
Physical examination, TB test, Drug Screen and Criminal Back Ground Check is mandatory.

Board of Nursing approved Continueing Education Programs

NOTE: The courses listed below will open only for those who are licensed as a C.N.A/LPN/RN  or who are enrolled or have completed one of our Nursing Assistant Programs.

Phlebotomy- 2 week program       (4 weeks with externship)
Class Hours: 9-1pm or 4-8pm Monday - Thursday's
Cost: $300.00 Includes: Registration, manual and training
C.P.R and National examination ($105.00) are not included.
MMR, TB Test, Criminal background screening required for externship.
National Examination: $105.00

*Note: Students in the night class are required to attend a morning class on the Tuesday (9am-1pm) of the second week for orientation at a local hospital, additionally, the student will also be required to attend the three day orientation from Monday-Wednesday 7am-1pm on the third week if they plan on completing the hospital externship.

Note: for those wishing to work strictly as a phlebotomist, you will need to complete a clinical externship at one of our designated hospitals; The externship is at no cost to the student, but does require the student to attend either Monday-Friday 4am-8am. If you are just wanting to refresh or enhance your skills, then you are not required to attend the externship. 

*Note: Students who have criminal backgrounds with drugs, violence or repeated theft will not be allowed to rotate in the hospital setting.


Psychiatric Technology - 2 week program
Classes will be held  monthly: TBA. Class hours M-TH 9-1
Cost: $300.00 Includes: Registration fee, manual and training
Clinical rotations will be conducted at Alzheimer's units, Crisis Units, Psychiatric facilities, and Neurology Units.
C.P.R and National examination ($105.00) are not included
National Examination: $105.00

EKG - 1 week program
Classes will be held monthly: 9am-2pm  Monday- Thursday
Cost: $250.00, Includes: Registration fee, manual and training.
C.P.R and National examination ($105.00) are not included

State Testing Information    

Bradenton/Sarasota : Testing is offered every Friday and Saturday.

North Port/ Port Charlotte : Monday - Thursdays.   

St. Petersburg : Monday - Thursdays.   

The theoretical portion of the state examination is now on computer, you may be scheduled in the morning or the afternoon for state testing.
